Deepa complains of death threats from other parties

A complaint has been lodged by Deepa, niece of former Tamil Nadu chief-minister J. Jayalalithaa, stating that she had been receiving death threats from her political adversaries.

62 candidates are in fray in R.K. Nagar where by-polls are to be held next Wednesday (12th April) to fill up the vacancy created by the untimely and suspicious demise of Jayalalithaa in December last year. DMK’s Marudhu Ganesh, DMDK’s Mathivanan, OPS and jailbird Sasikala factions’ Madhusudanan and Dinakaran, BJP’s Gangai Amarn and CPI-M’s Loganathan along with Deepa are the main candidates.

Deepa, who recently floated her ‘MGR-Amma-Deepa Peravai’ (MADP), has been allotted the symbol of ‘boat’, has been indulging in intense election campaign for the past week holding a small replica of the symbol.

In the meantime, a complaint has been lodged on behalf of Deepa stating that she has been receiving death threats over phone from her political adversaries.
